VPAT/ACR FAQs

VPAT refers to the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template, and it is a document that can be downloaded for free from the ITI website. However, filling out a VPAT requires expertise and guidance from accessibility specialists. The average cost of a VPAT ranges from $2000 to $5000.

Before obtaining VPAT certification, there are multiple steps involved in the process:

  1. Audit: Step one is to get an accessibility audit of the website or app against the Section 508 guidelines where barriers for people with disabilities are uncovered along with WCAG conformance failures.
  2. Remediate: Remediate the accessibility failures/violations identified during the audit, validate the fixes, and get user testing done by various persons with disabilities.
